I feel upset right now and I don’t like feeling upset.

So, I’m going to change how I feel — right now.

I start with a deep breath.

That always feels good.

I won’t let my mind drift.

I’m taking this moment to help myself.

Helping myself feels good. It’s the right thing to do, and I’m smart to do it.

I feel proud of myself when I practice self-care like this.

I breathe deeply and let it feel really good in my body.

I’m focused now: Just breathing and filling my mind with these important reminders.

I have the power to control myself totally.

I feel better already,

and, by the time I finish reading this, I will feel completely centered in a calm, composed, confident ground of Being.

I let myself sink deeper into this grounded feeling with every inhale and exhale. Slowly.

I’m making a good choice right now.

I make good choices.

I am doing right by myself and it feels really good.

I let myself feel good.

I let myself celebrate this powerful moment of self-direction.

I am a mature, intelligent, self-possessed adult.

I have power over my mind and body.

I am powerful.

How I feel right now is up to me.

I choose to feel calm, composed, and confident.

I make adjustments in my posture to embody these choices.

With every word I read, I feel more calm.

With every breath I inhale, I feel more composed.

With every breath I exhale, I feel more confident.

I feel my body and mind calming down even deeper now.

This feels good.

I welcome peace into my lungs.

I let all of my muscles relax.

I let my body do whatever it wants to do to feel even more at ease.

Deep belly breaths feel good.

Relaxing my shoulders feels good.

Gently shaking my arms and legs feels good.

Smiling feels good.

I really can control how I feel!

When I breathe in, I pull even more calm energy into my body.

Calming myself down makes me feel powerful and confident.

I take a really big inhale now,

and sigh it out through my mouth.

I like who I am when I am calm.

I like who I am in this moment.

I am calm, composed, and confident.

I feel really grateful to myself for taking this moment.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Self!

I love you :)

I’m ready to return to the world now:

I am calm, composed, and totally self-possessed.
